Ascendant shares slide 2.8%

Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd fell to a new 52-week low in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.
The company, which owns electricity provider Belco, fell 15 cents, or 2.8 per cent, to close on $5.25, as 5,000 shares changed hands.
Over the past ten years the company’s shares have fallen more than 87 per cent. In mid-December 2004, they were trading at $42, according to BSX figures.
Butterfield Bank and KeyTech Ltd also traded, but their share prices held steady.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 1.3 points, or 0.1 per cent, to close the day 1,362.02.
The BSX Insurance Index took a tumble, falling 16.46 points, or 1.09 per cent, to close on 1,490.77.
