BSX ends the day lower

Two stocks declined on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, contributing to a drop of 30.25 points (2.18 per cent) for the index, which closed the day at 1,361.04.
Bermuda Aviation Services’s shares fell 47 cents (15.7 per cent) to $2.53 after 5,000 were traded. Also declining was Butterfield Bank, with its stock falling in value by six cents (2.9 per cent) to close at $1.99 after 15,600 shares changed hands.
Also traded were 1,000 shares of BF&M, which remained at $17.75, and 1,000 shares of utilities group Ascendant, with the stock remaining unchanged at $5.25.
The total value of shares traded was $66,714.
The BSX Insurance Index rose 1.86 points (0.12 per cent) to close at 1,506.50.
