Butterfield Bank was the lone company to see trading action on the Bermuda Stock Exchange today.

The bank’s common shares closed unchanged at $1.99 as 10,675 shares changed hands, while Butterfield’s 8 per cent preference shares gained one cent to close at $1,140, as 27 of them changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the day exactly where it started it, at 1,372.18.

Trading volume was 10,702 shares, while turnover totalled $52,023.36.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 6.32 points, or 0.4 per cent, to close on 1,547.78.
