The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rose 2.08 points (0.15 per cent) to close at 1,358.44 after two stocks climbed in value.

Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, the parent company of this newspaper, improved by 50 cents (7.1 per cent) to close at $7.50 after 100 shares changed hands.

Somers Limited edged up 25 cents (1.8 per cent) to close at $14 after 100 shares were traded.

There was trading in the shares of Butterfield Bank, West Hamilton Holdings and Ascendant Group, but the stock prices for all three companies remained unchanged at the end of the day.

The Bermuda Insurance Index closed down 9.63 points (0.61 per cent) at 1,570.51.
