BF&M dominates BSX trading
Shares worth almost $3.28 million traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange last week — with the vast majority of the turnover generated by trading in BF&M Ltd.
In a trading week shortened for last Monday’s Bermuda Day holiday, more than 181,000 shares worth approximately $3.26 million changed hands. The stock climbed 4.3 per cent to close the week on $18.
Fellow insurer Argus Group Holdings Ltd was the biggest climber of the week, gaining 8.3 per cent to close $3.90, as 2,500 shares changed hands.
Ascendant Group Ltd fell 2 per cent to close the week on its 52-week low of $5, as 10,700 shares traded. Fellow utility KeyTech Ltd was unchanged, also at its one-year low of $2.75, as 18,200 shares traded.
Butterfield Bank fell two cents, or 1.1 per cent, to end the week at $1.87 as 6,200 shares changed hands.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 1.65 points, or 0.1 per cent, to close at 1,302.45.
