Butterfield Bank shares fell nearly 12 per cent today, as The Royal Gazette/BSX Index shed almost 100 points.

The bank’s shares slid by 22 cents to close the day on $1.65 on the trading of 41,000 shares on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd also fell by 15 cents, or 4.8 per cent, to close on $3, as 600 shares changed hands.

The Index fell 99.26 points, or 7.62 per cent, to close at 1,203.2.

The BSX Insurance Index shed 2.07 points, or 0.13 per cent, to close on 1,572.49.
