Butterfield shares climb

A total of 13,793 shares worth more than $108,448 today traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
The Bank of Butterfield rose two cents (1.1 per cent) to $1.77 after 5,093 shares traded.
Insurance firm BF&M stood at $16.98 after 4,600 shares changed hands, down one cent (0.1 per cent).
And energy group Ascendant was unchanged at $5.20 after 4,100 shares moved.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the day at 1,217.98, up 8.75 points (0.72 per cent).
The BSX Insurance Index closed down 20.94 points (1.34 per cent) at 1,537.84.
