The Bank of Butterfield was up four cents (2.09 per cent) at $1.95 after 25,000 shares moved.

Insurance firm Argus fell three cents (0.75 per cent) to $3.95 after 3,000 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX closed up 17.06 points (1.32 per cent) at 1,313.24.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day at 1,637.10, down 11.32 points (0.69 per cent).
