Ascendant Group shares fell nearly 20 per cent today, giving back most of the 29 per cent gain they recorded last week.

The parent company of electricity provider Belco fell $1.09, or 19.8 per cent, to $4.41 after 254 shares traded.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed down 11.66 points, or 0.98 per cent, at 1,180.03.

Telecoms company KeyTech closed at $3.65, down 10 cents, or 2.7 per cent, as 1,300 shares changed hands.

And the Bank of Butterfield was unchanged at $1.65 as 88 shares sold.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 37.4 points, or 2.28 per cent, at 1,618.58.
