The Royal Gazette/BSX closed up 4.88 points, or 0.42 per cent, at 1,170.48.

The sole trading was in insurance company BF&M, which was up 65 cents, or 4 per cent, at $17 after 1,200 shares traded.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 2.74 points, or 0.17 per cent, at 1,644.69.
