Bank’s preference shares close lower

Butterfield Bank’s ordinary shares rose while its preference shares declined on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
The bank’s ordinary shares edged up one cent, or 0.6 per cent, to close at $1.65 after 200 were traded. Meanwhile, the bank’s preference shares dropped $48.51, or 4.6 per cent, to $1,001.5 after three shares were exchanged.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed at 1,168.76, up 4.41 points, or 0.38 per cent.
The BSX Insurance Index fell 15.27 points, or 0.95 per cent, to close at 1,596.03.
