BSX Insurance Index plunges

The BSX Insurance Index today plunged nearly 3.5 per cent to 1,584.27.
The drop of 56.91 points came as insurers added to the losses they suffered last Friday after the UK voted to leave the European Union.
The sole trading on Bermuda Stock Exchange was 100,000 shares in the Bank of Butterfield worth $161,250.
The move left the bank’s price unchanged at $1.61.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the day down 8.99 points, or 0.76 per cent, at 1,169.34.
