Shares in facilities management firm BAS leaped 95 cents, or 41.3 per cent, on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The jump came after 53,864 shares traded, lifting the BAS price to $3.25.

A total of three shares in Bermuda Press (Holdings), the parent company of The Royal Gazette, also traded, leaving its price unchanged at $5.30.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 4.41 points, or 0.36 per cent, at 1,219.51.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day down 19.97 points, or 1.18 per cent, at 1,665.76.
