The Bank of Butterfield’s share price rose 50 cents to $24 in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

The increase, equivalent to 2.1 per cent, came after 19,448 shares traded.

The bank’s price on the New York Stock Exchange dropped, down 2 cents, or 0.08 per cent, at $24.01.

Utilities firm Ascendant also fell, down 20 cents or 3.2 per cent at $6 after 200 shares sold.

Insurance firm Argus was unchanged at $4.05 after 36,315 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 20.56 points, or 1.33 per cent, at 1,563.79.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 34.48 points, or 2.05 per cent, at 1,714.61.
