The Bank of Butterfield fell 25 cents to $23.50 in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

The drop, equivalent to 1.1 per cent, came after 17,300 shares sold.

The bank’s price on the New York Stock Exchange rose 2 cents or 0.08 per cent to $24.05.

Utilities firm Ascendant was unchanged at $6.20 after 2,000 shares changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed down 11.24 points, or 0.72 per cent, at 1,543.23 on the day when the BSX trading hours were extended by one hour. The BSX will continue to close down at 4.30pm instead of 3.30pm.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 11.26 points, or 0.68 per cent, at 1,670.33.
