Bank of Butterfield shares closed up $1 at $32 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move, equal to 3.2 per cent, came after 4,577 shares sold.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank was also up — 99 cents, or 3.16 per cent, at $32.28.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 44.98 points, or 2.35 per cent, at 1,962.53.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 15.70 points, or 0.88 per cent, at 1,806.57.
