Utilities firm Ascendant rose 49 cents to $7.99 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The move, equal to 6.5 per cent, came after 342 shares traded.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the Bank of Butterfield went up 59 cents, or 1.86 per cent, to $32.25.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 4.73 points, or 0.25 per cent, at 1,930.02.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 2.15 points, or 0.12 per cent, at 1,874.74.
