Butterfield Bank shares improved by 49 cents, or 1.5 per cent, to close at $33 after 196 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

On the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares were up 69 cents, or 2.06 per cent, at $34.19.

Meanwhile, on the local exchange One Communications Ltd saw its share price edge up one cent, or 0.5 per cent, to $2.11 after 42,200 were exchanged.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index improved by 22.18 points, or 1.13 per cent, to 1.993.3.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 2.66 points, or 0.14 per cent, at 1,902.33.
