Insurance firm BF&M today gained 40 cents to $31 on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The 1.9 per cent increase came as 300 shares traded.

The Bank of Butterfield rose 25 cents, or 0.8 per cent, to $33.25 as 1,300 shares were exchanged.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank also rose, up 38 cents, or 1.14 per cent, to $33.72.

The index closed up 14.31 points, or 0.72 per cent, at 2,012.14.

The BSX Insurance Index ended up 9.47 points, or 0.5 per cent, at 1,914.81.
