HSBC Holdings shares were up 15 cents, or 1.53 per cent, at $9.90 after 5,902 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

The stock was the only mover. Some 1,500 shares of Butterfield Bank, and 1,300 shares of Ascendant Group were also exchanged, but with no change to the closing price of either stock.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down seven cents, or 0.2 per cent, at $34.52.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index ended the day flat at 2,052.57.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 2.48 points, or 0.13 per cent, at 1,913.55.
