Six stocks trade as LOM sees heavy volume

LOM: 66,666 of its shares traded on the BSX as its price remained unchanged

Six stocks traded on the Bermuda Stock Exchange today, as BF&M Ltd and Ascendant Group Ltd advanced.

The most heavily traded issue was LOM Financial Ltd, which saw 66,666 shares change hands as its price remained unchanged on $2.50.

Ascendant, owner of power utility Belco, was the biggest climber, edging higher by 11 cents, or 1.2 per cent, to close on $9 as 700 of its shares were traded.

Insurer BF&M advanced 15 cents, or 0.7 per cent, to $20.75 on the trading of 200 shares.

Butterfield Bank and Somers Ltd also saw trading activity, but their prices closed unchanged.

Among international companies listed on the BSX, 50,000 shares of HSBC Holdings Ltd were traded, with the price falling 35 cents, or 3.6 per cent, to $9.45.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 2.21 points, or 0.1 per cent, to close on 2,046.02.

Trading volume totalled 118,391 shares while turnover topped $677,000.

The BSX Insurance Index tumbled 14.84 points, or 0.8 per cent, to close the week on 1,893.96.
