Shares of Somers Limited rose by 50 cents, or 3.8 per cent, to $13.50 after 4,200 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Meanwhile, BF&M Ltd closed 40 cents lower, or 1.9 per cent, at $20.60 after 8,200 shares changed hands.

On the New York Stock Exchange shares of Butterfield Bank were down 13 cents, or 0.39 per cent, at $32.84.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index inched 0.26 of a point higher, or 0.01 per cent, to 1,981.29.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 3.36 points, or 0.18 per cent, at 1,863.57.
