Ascendant climbs to year high

Ascendant Group Ltd rose to a new 52-week high as its shares gained 2.6 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The company, which is the parent of power utility Belco, climbed 24 cents to close on $9.49 as 1,300 shares changed hands.
Telecoms group One Communications Ltd was the only other stock price to move. One closed 10 cents, or 3.3 per cent lower at $2.90 on the trading of 500 shares.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 0.94 of a point to close on 2,143.23. Trading volume was 1,810 shares, while turnover totalled $13,980.
The BSX Insurance Index fell 1.28 points to close on 1,881.87.
