Shares of Ascendant Group were 24 cents lower, or 2.5 per cent, at $9.25 after 300 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

There was also trading of 200 shares of Devonshire Industries, but with no change to the closing price of $5.50.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed 2.31 points lower, or 0.11 per cent, at 2,089.41.

On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield Bank shares were up 29 cents, or 0.82 per cent, at $35.81

The BSX Insurance Index rose 3.74 points, or 0.13 per cent, at 1,924.56.
