Shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, parent company of The Royal Gazette, improved by $1.25, or 25 per cent, to $6.25 after 2,700 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Also improving was BF&M Ltd, which ended the day up 70 cents, or 3.8 per cent, at $19 after 570 shares changed hands.

Butterfield Bank shares were up 65 cents, or 1.8 per cent, at $36.50 after 2,500 were traded. While on the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up $1.50, or 4.11 per cent, at $38.04.

On the local exchange, 3,000 shares of One Communications were exchanged, but with no impact on the closing price of $2.99.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 36.22 points, or 1.71 per cent, at 2,158.25.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 6.16 points, or 0.32 per cent, at 1,949.31.
