BF&M Ltd shares slipped 70 cents, or 3.7 per cent, to $18.30 after 800 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Also lower on the day were shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd, publisher of The Royal Gazette, which dropped by five cents, or 0.8 per cent, to $6.20 after 5,000 shares were exchanged.

There was also trading in Ascendant Group and Argus Group, but with no change to their respective closing prices.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 5.42 points, or 0.24 per cent, at 2,211.4.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 9.06, or 0.47 per cent, at 1,941.48.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank dropped 51 cents, or 1.34 per cent, to $37.50.
