Shares of Ascendant Group, the parent company of Belco, improved by five cents, or 0.5 per cent, to $9.55 after 2,000 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Meanwhile, BF&M Ltd was down one cent, or 0.1 per cent, at $17 after 1,100 shares were exchanged.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 0.41 of a point, or 0.02 per cent, at 2,222.31.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 6.29 points, or 0.34 per cent, at 1,862.44.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 24 cents, or 0.63 per cent, at $37.75.
