Butterfield Bank reported record profits today, and its shares rocketed 11.47 per cent on the New York Stock Exchange. The shares ended the day up $4.62 at $44.89.

There was no trading in the bank’s shares on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index, however, 6,000 shares of BF&M Ltd, worth $102,000, were exchanged but with no impact on the closing price of $17.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was unchanged at 2,280.79.

The BSX Insurance Index was down 1.22 points, or 0.06 per cent, at 1,894.75.
