Ascendant Group shares improved by five cents, or 0.5 per cent, to $10.05 after 2,700 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX index.

Shares of BF&M Ltd were one cent lower, or 0.1 per cent, at $17 after 6,700 were exchanged, while Iris Re ILS preferred shares were down $2.55, or 2.3 per cent, at $106.89 after one share changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 0.41 of a point, or 0.02 per cent, at 2,586.67.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank finished 24 cents higher, or 0.51 per cent, at $46.99.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 2.43 points, or 0.13 per cent, at 1,928.39.
