Shares of Butterfield Bank fell $1.50, or 3.1 per cent, to $47 after 1,296 were traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index. However, on the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up 97 cents, or 2.07 per cent, at $47.92

On the local exchange, Argus Group shares improved by seven cents, or 1.8 per cent, to $3.99 after 1,000 changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 66.06 points, or 2.4 per cent, at 2,684.4.

The BSX Insurance Index was up 13.2 points, or 0.73 per cent, at 1,827.56.
