Shares of Butterfield Bank improved by 50 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to close at $47.50 after 1,496 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Meanwhile, on the New York Stock Exchange the bank’s shares were up 30 cents, or 0.64 per cent, at $47.36.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 22.49 points, or 0.85 per cent, at 2,672.02. The BSX Insurance Index was up 10.67 points, or 0.59 per cent, at 1,808.49.
