Shares of Butterfield Bank fell by $1.25, or 2.4 per cent, to $50 after 21,453 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Meanwhile, on the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up $1.21, or 2.41 per cent at $51.33.

On the local exchange, BF&M Ltd was down 24 cents, or 1.4 per cent, to $16.76 after 199 shares were exchanged.

There was also trading in 10,135 shares of Ascendant Group, but with no change to the closing price of $16.50.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 58.06 points, or 2.01 per cent, at 2,825.55, while the BSX Insurance Index dropped 3.27 points, or 0.19 per cent, to 1,675.44.
