Bermuda Press gains 3.7%
Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd was the only stock to advance in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The company, which owns The Royal Gazette, as well as commercial printing, retail and real estate interests, climbed 25 cents, or 3.7 per cent, on the trading of 1,000 shares, to reach $7, its highest closing price in 16 months.
Devonshire Industries Ltd, owner of the Bermuda Paint Company, slumped 70 cents, or 16.5 per cent, to close on $3.55 as 1,500 shares changed hands.
One Communications Ltd was the most actively traded stock, as 5,000 of the telecoms group’s shares were traded, as the price remained unchanged on $3.
Butterfield Bank did not trade on the BSX, but its US-listed shares gained 86 cents, or 1.67 per cent, to close on $52.22, above its last BSX trading price of $51.50.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 0.04 of a point to close on 2,901.36.
Trading volume was 7,500 shares and turnover totalled $27,325.
The BSX Insurance Index gained 5 points, or 0.33 per cent, to close on 1,498.91.
