Butterfield Bank shares fell by $1.50, or 3.8 per cent, to $38 after 12,200 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the bank’s shares were up 15 cents, or 0.39 per cent, at $38.73.

Meanwhile, on the local exchange, a total of 520 shares of Ascendant Group Limited were exchanged, but with no change to the closing price of $17.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 67.46 points, or 2.88 per cent, at 2,276.59, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 8.73 points, or 0.57 per cent, at 1,530.49.
