Shares of Butterfield Bank improved by 50 cents, or 1.5 per cent, to $33.50 after 200 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index. In New York, the bank’s shares were up 44 cents, or 1.29 per cent, at $34.42.

On the local exchange, there was trading in 3,300 shares of One Communications Ltd, 2,514 shares of Ascendant Group Ltd, and 200 shares of BF&M Ltd, with no change to the closing prices of the stocks.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 22.49 points, or 1.1 per cent, at 2,073.9. The BSX Insurance Index was up 9.73 points, or 0.63 per cent, at 1,543.74.
