Butterfield shares climb on BSX

Shares of Butterfield Bank rose 0.7 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The bank gained 24 cents to close on $33.34 as 300 shares changed hands.
The day after Butterfield announced net income of more than $38.6 million for the second quarter, the bank’s US-listed shares also edged slightly higher on the New York Stock Exchange, adding one cent to close on $33.33.
The only other stock to trade on the BSX was insurer BF&M Ltd, which closed unchanged on $17.05 as 2,233 shares were traded.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 10.79 points, or 0.49 per cent, to close on 2,198.28.
BSX trading volume totalled 2,523 shares and turnover was $47,853.30.
The BSX Insurance Index gained 33.23 points, or 2.04 per cent to close on 1,662.55.
