Shares of Butterfield Bank were down $2.50, or 7.7 per cent, at $30 after 3,200 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX index.

Tha bank’s shares were up 17 cents, or 0.6 per cent, at $28.31 on the New York Stock Exchange.

In the local exchange, shares of Argus Group Holdings Ltd were down 20 cents, or 6.3 per cent, at $3 after 2,800 changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 116.44 points, or 5.38 per cent, at 2,048.06, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 33.32 points, or 2.04 per cent, at 1,667.2.

During July, One Communications Ltd repurchased 12,599 of its common shares at an average price of $3.41 for immediate cancellation, pursuant to its share repurchase programme.
