Butterfield shares fall 3.5%

Shares of Butterfield Bank fell $1.29, or 3.5 per cent, to $36 after 2,370 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

In New York, the bank’s shares were down 16 cents, or 0.44 per cent, at $36.53.

On the local exchange, there was traded in 1,700 shares of Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd, and 210 shares of Ascendant Group Ltd, but with no change to the closing price of either stock.

However, shares of LOM Financial Ltd were down two cents, or 0.7 per cent, after 33,400 changed hands.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 57.98 points, or 2.41 per cent, at 2,346.59, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 19.85 points, or 1.14 per cent, at 1,728.67.

Separately, $20 million of fixed rate unsecured loan notes by Axis Specialty Finance Plc have been admitted to the Bermuda Stock Exchange’s official listing. The notes have a due date of April 18, 2022.
