Argus shares gain 7.5% on BSX

Bank boost: Butterfield shares rose for a third successive trading day on the BSX

Shares of Argus Group Holdings Ltd surged 7.5 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The insurer gained 22 cents to close on $3.17 as 7,900 shares changed hands.

Rival insurer BF&M Ltd was the most actively traded stock, with 9,162 shares trading as the share price closed unchanged on $20.50.

Ascendant Group Ltd, parent company of power utility Belco, gained ground in light trade, climbing 95 cents, or 3 per cent, to close on $32.45.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 13.56 points, or 0.58 per cent, to close on 2,365.

BSX trading volume totalled 17,162 shares, while turnover was $215,609.

The BSX Insurance Index gained 16.37 points, or 0.95 per cent, to close on 1,734.76.

Butterfield Bank’s US-listed shares fell 31 cents, or 0.84 per cent, to close on $36.45 on the New York Stock Exchange. The bank last traded on the BSX at $36.
