Bermuda Press Holdings shares surge 25%
Shares of Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd leapt 25 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
BPHL, the owner of The Royal Gazette and commercial printing, real estate and retail interests, surged $1.60 to close on $8, the company’s highest closing share price in more than 2½ years. Five hundred shares were traded.
BF&M also saw double-digit percentage gains as its shares gained $1.88, or 10.2 per cent, to close on $20.24 as 3,243 shares changed hands.
Butterfield Bank also gained ground, edging six cents, or 0.2 per cent higher, to close on $33.81 on the trading of 4,104 shares.
Butterfield’s US-listed shares fell 29 cents, or 0.84 per cent, to close on $34.04 on the New York Stock Exchange.
Argus Group Holdings Ltd was the most heavily traded stock on the BSX. The insurer shed one cent, or 0.4 per cent, to close on $2.56, as 8,241 shares traded.
Two thousand shares of Polaris Holding Co Ltd, owner of Hamilton docks operator Stevedoring Services, also changed hands. Polaris closed unchanged on $8.95.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index added 18.97 points, or 0.86 per cent, to close on 2,221.01.
The BSX Insurance Index edged higher by 0.64 of a point to close on 1,727.11.
