Ascendant Group Ltd fell $1, or 3.2 per cent, to $30 after 300 shares changed hands.

On the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down $1.59, or 4.73 per cent, at $32.01.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 20.24 points, or 0.91 per cent, at 2,200.26, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 40.44 points, or 2.18 per cent, at 1,817.1.
