Ascendant shares slip on BSX

Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd fell 0.2 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The parent company of power utility Belco dipped five cents to close on $30.50 as 800 shares changed hands.
Ascendant’s shareholders have approved the company’s sale to Canadian-based Algonquin Power and Utility Corp for $36 per share and is awaiting approval from the Regulatory Authority.
Butterfield Bank remained unchanged on $25.25 as 516 shares were traded.
The bank’s US-listed shares gained 36 cents, or 1.46 per cent, to close on $25.08 on the New York Stock Exchange, as 124,136 shares were traded.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 0.48 of a point to close on 1,829.33.
The BSX Insurance Index gained 38.59 points, or 2.8 per cent, to close on 1,411.39.
