Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd fell 1.6 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.

The parent company of power utility Belco fell 50 cents to close on $30.50 as 500 shares changed hands.

Ascendant was the only stock to trade on the BSX. The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 4.82 points, or 0.26 per cent, to close on 1,835.38.

The US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank fell 99 cents, or 4.06 per cent, to close on $23.37 on the New York Stock Exchange as 175,941 shares were traded. Butterfield last traded on the BSX at $25.25.

The BSX Insurance Index fell 26.45 points, or 1.87 per cent, to close on 1,384.94.
