Ascendant shares edge higher on BSX

Shares of Ascendant Group Ltd rose 0.6 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The parent company of power utility Belco rose 20 cents to close on $31.25 as 1,300 shares changed hands.
The only other issue to trade on the BSX was BF&M. The insurer closed unchanged on $18 as 100 shares were exchanged.
The US-listed shares of Butterfield Bank fell 76 cents, or nearly 3 per cent, to close on $24.63 on the New York Stock Exchange as 152,239 shares changed hands. The bank last traded on the BSX at $24.70.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index rose 1.93 points, or 0.11 per cent, to close on 1,827.28.
For the week, the index fell 0.41 per cent, driven mainly by a 5.3 per cent fall in Ascendant’s share price.
