Shares of Somers Limited improved by $1, or 7.4 per cent, to $14.50 after 1,200 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.

Also improving was Butterfield Bank, which rose seven cents, or 0.3 per cent, to $25.17 after 4,217 shares changed hands.

In New York, the bank’s shares were down three cents, or 0.12 per cent, at $25.49.

On the local exchange, a total of 2,900 shares of Argus Group Holdings Ltd were exchanged, but with no change to the closing price of $2.65.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 9.8 points, or 0.54 per cent at 1,837.7, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 18.9 points, or 1.29 per cent, at 1,449.75.
