Butterfield shares rise 9.2% on BSX

Butterfield Bank shares soared 9.2 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The bank gained $2.57 on the trading of 800 shares to close on $30.57, as the gap that had developed between the bank’s BSX and New York Exchange-listed shares closed up.
Butterfield’s US-listed shares fell eight cents, or 0.26 per cent, to close on $30.69 on the New York Stock Exchange.
The only other issue to trade on the BSX was West Hamilton Holdings, which gained 24 cents, or 6.4 per cent, to close on $4 as 200 shares were traded.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index gained 127.44 points, or 6.76 per cent, to close on 2,013.2.
The BSX Insurance Index fell 4.03 points, or 0.25 per cent, to close on 1,617.51.
