Bank shares tumble

The RG/BSX Index slumped 107.28 (3.95 per cent) to close at 2,610.14, as Bank of N.T. Butterfield Ltd closed down $2 (5.0 per cent) at $38 on a volume of 800 shares on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
And on the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield fell $1.78 (4.64 per cent) to close at $36.62.
RG/BSX Index: fell nearly 4 per cent
