Bank shares finish higher

While Butterfield was higher for the day on the NYSE Friday, the share price fell 85 cents for the week on the BSX

The RG/BSX Index finished the week 36.46 points (1.60 per cent) lower, dragged down by Bank of N.T. Butterfield Ltd. which fell 85 cents (2.7 per cent) for the week on a volume of 380 shares trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange, and closing at $31.

The only other BSX trading for the week was BF&M Ltd. in which 300 shares changed hands and the share price was a dollar higher (up 4.8 per cent) at $22 at the Friday close.

Butterfield finished the week on the New York Stock Exchange at $31.19, up 55 cents (1.80 per cent) on the day.
