BSX CEO re-elected to WFE board
Greg Wojciechowski, the president and chief executive of the Bermuda Stock Exchange, has been re-elected to a three-year term as director, Americas region, of the World Federation of Exchanges.
The announcement this weekend follows the 62nd World Federation of Exchanges annual meeting held in Bermuda last month.
The WFE is the trade association of publicly regulated stock, futures, and options exchanges, as well as central counterparties.
It represents more than 250 market-infrastructures ranging from those that operate the largest financial centres to those that run frontier markets.
The WFE exchanges, together with other exchanges feeding into their database, are home to more than 50,000 listed companies, with market capitalisation of more than $100 trillion.
Mr Wojciechowski commented: “BSX has been a full member of the WFE since 1999 and I am honoured to be re-elected to the board, having served since 2017.
“This opportunity allows BSX to continue to advocate for smaller exchanges and play a central role on the international stage by offering our input on many important issues and challenges facing the global exchange industry.”
Nandini Sukumar, the chief executive of the WFE said: “Our board members help to set and advance the WFE’s priorities as we look to promote growth and stability across financial markets.
“Through collaboration and co-operation on our board, exchange leaders work together to address the key challenges and issues impacting our industry.
“We are delighted that Mr Wojciechowski will continue to represent the BSX and look forward to continuing to work closely with him, benefiting from his experience and insights.”
The WFE elected seven new directors including a new chairman, vice-chairman and working committee. The WFE Board comprises 18 leaders from around the world.
The BSX is a wholly owned subsidiary of Miami International Holdings, Inc.
