BFIS releases ‘Careers in Insurance’ booklet
Entitled “Careers In Insurance”, the 20-page booklet is full of colourful illustrations aimed at helping Bermuda’s students gain the knowledge to consider a career in insurance, then the education and training necessary to enter the industry.The booklet was designed to be used during the insurance career presentations BFIS makes during the year to Bermuda’s high school students, but it will also be of interest to parents and teachers as well as anyone interested in learning more about Bermuda’s insurance industry. Divided into easy-to-read sections, the booklet answers such questions as: Why is the insurance industry important to Bermuda? What is insurance? What is the history of insurance? It also explains how the business works, what kind of jobs there are and what it takes to pursue a career in insurance.Founded in 1996, BFIS is a Bermuda Registered Charity which has awarded almost $4 million in scholarships to date, in addition to running mentoring, networking, intern and career information and career guidance programmes.
